Hot under the collar

I've been told before that leaving a band on can cause excessive heat under the band and forward through the cigar, which can cause the cigar to run. Just thought I'd share.

I've never heard of this phenomenon. However, I do know that the heat from the cigar will help soften the glue on the band, making it easier to remove it. - G.K.
