Macanudo Vintage 2000 VIII Cigar Macanudo Vintage 2000 VIII Cigar
Score: 9.3

Size/Strength: 5½ x 50 / Mild
Wrapper: U.S. Connecticut Shade (2004)
Filler: Dominican Piloto Cubano
Binder: Mexican San Andreas (Medio Tiempo)

Another phenomenal cigar that takes its rightful place among the renowned Macanudo Vintage Series. Ultra-smooth, seductively aromatic, and remarkably flavorful. Everything about the Macanudo Vintage VIII was perfect, right down to the seamless rolling of its pristine, 2004 vintage Connecticut wrapper.

As it smoked, this Robusto just got better and better. I didn't want it to end, and I was still within the first inch! The cigar was velvety smooth all the way down. Consistently flavorful, with a marvelous cedar-aged sweetness, and it never turned bitter. Just great, great, great from foot to head.

If you don't smoke milder cigars, then stay away from this cigar. Of course, then you won't know what you're missing. If you have an appreciation for fine cigars, this current Mac Vintage series is a real standout. If you have the means, buy two boxes and save one for long-term aging. They should be mighty fine by the time the next Macanudo Vintage series debuts. But it's going to be hard to follow this act.
