Attractive, even-toned 2001-vintage Cameroon wrapper. Nice aroma with a rich, woody flavor. Nice and smooth. Good cap, burn, draw. Lots of nice, thick, creamy smoke. Pretty decent ash. A little flaky around the edges, firmer in the middle. Nice silvery color. This Cameoon wrapper is what was originally on the Leon Jimenes cigars, and I must say it really has a definite edge over the current Connecticut edition. Great flavor, balance, and aroma. If you like Cameroon wrapper, you'll want to try this cigar. They got it right. And this is not your father's Leon Jimenes, but maybe more like your grandfather's. This is a solid, full-bodied cigar that comes on with a wallop of flavor at the halfway point. This is not a complex cigar. It's a straight-shooter. The primary flavors remained consistent while blooming into a very woody-earthy smoke. This cigar would be great with a good port, if only just to add a little sweetness to the palate between puffs.
